| What is the effect of a registration obtained under the Madrid Agreement. The effects of such a registration are: - The registration of the trade mark in the designated countries of the Madrid Agreement. - The International registration date is the date when the International Bureau in Geneva receives the completed application and protection starts from the date of international registration. - The international application is deemed to have the same effect as a trade mark registered in the designated country following the filing of an application locally (Article 4 of the Agreement). - Registration under the Madrid Agreement lasts for 20 years and is renewable for another 20 years. |
