| What's all this about the London Agreement on patent translations? The “London Agreement” formally the agreement on application of Article 65 of the European Patent Convention. The Paris Intergovernmental Conference in 1999 mandated the Working Party on Cost Reduction to find ways of reducing translation related costs by 50%. The agreement reduces costs by limiting the number of translation required, but will not come into force until 8 contracting states including France, Germany and the UK have ratified it. |
