| When do I have to pay European Patent renewal fees? Do they get more expensive over time? For EP(UK) patents, renewal fees are only due at the UK Patent office for the fifth and successive years once the application has been granted (renewal fees being payable annually to the EPO from the third year until grant). The value of the patent as an asset increases considerably with time. |
